Grade 5 Class Fundraiser

Mr. John McPhee, Principal of ECS, and Grade 5 student Carl Pinter
dressed as the "Blues Brothers", for their stint as coaches for the Grade 5 hockey team vs the Heinz 55 team at a Sunday afternoon fundraiser for Carl's family.  Carl is currently undergoing treatment for Leukemia.

It was an afternoon of great fun and community support for the Pinter family, with over $4,000 raised to help with costs relating to Carl's cancer.

Uganda Container update ...

In 2008, ECS students and citizens of Eston collected, sorted, packed and shipped a full container of goods to Uganda.  This container was sponsored by Sask Tel, who paid the shipping charges.  After sitting in customs, and clearing a lot of red tape, our container finally arrived in Uganda in late August 2009. The two pictures included here show Ugandan youth unpacking and wearing ECS sweatshirts donated by Eston School.

The community of Eston is currently working on filling second container, which will be going to Liberia.  Goods will be used to furnish a girl's school being built by the Eston Full Gospel Church and community members.  Hopes are to have the container ready for shipping in late 2010.

Attention Parents:

If you have a child that has been hospitalized due to illness or injury, we would like to hear your story for our Children’s Hospital Radiothon on February 3, 4 and 5, 2010.

Sharing your story with us means that you and your family can help to raise awareness and inspire others to support the fundraising for the Children’s Hospital during the Radiothon in Saskatoon.

Tell us about your experience.  Did you have to travel out of province for medical treatment?  Please contact Shauna Korol at the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan at 931-4887 or s.korol@childrenshospitalfoundation.sk.ca for more information or to get involved.”
