HISTORY
OF THE STAIN GLASS WINDOW
(Designed and donated by Joan Hiebert (Byrnes)
The stain glass window, located in the Front (north) Entrance of Eston School,
was designed with two basic ideas in mind. One, to depict some of the
activities that are common to the students of Eston High School and two, to have
some meaning for the Byrnes family.
The window was designed to look like a strip of photographic film - to represent
memories of high school days.
 |
The first panel shows the academic side of school - a
chemistry scene. |
 |
The second panel recognizes the importance of sports.
It shows a football scene with the Eston team (colours)
tackling our favourite rivals (colours) from Kindersley. |
 |
The third panel shows a dancer and a piano player - to
represent the school's reputation of excellence in band and music. |
 |
The fourth panel represents the area of Industrial Arts. |
 |
The final two panels are fun panels. They represent the
world students come from and the world they are going out into.
Because so many students are associated with farming and come to school on
the bus one panel represents the rural farming scene - the grain elevator.
The final end panel is geese in flight. This recognizes your
graduation day. One nice thing about geese - they come back year after
year - just as many of you will. |
