In 1959, Kyle Composite School was built on Centre Street with an east wing added in 1966 and a satellite building, used for a classroom, was moved in from White Bear. The planning for the renovations and additions to the present building commenced in the spring of 1984. The design was completed in the spring of 1987 and final approval was granted in June of 1987. Construction started in July 1987 and was completed in July 1988.

The total construction costs for the addition of a new gym and classrooms, and renovations amounted to $1,978,500 which provided for 1,069 square metres of renovated space and 889 square metres of new construction. At this time, the Division repair crew renovated seven classrooms and the resource centre.

Our school offers a full range of academic subjects, as well as, practical and applied arts and computer instruction. Picture Tel classes have been offered for approximately 15 years to our students within the for instruction of subjects with limited enrollment. A wide range of extra-curricular activities is also offered at our school.

Kyle School was within the Eston-Elrose School Division until the amalgamation of school divisions  which took place in 2006.   The official ceremonies took place at the Kyle Composite School for the launching of the Sun West School Division on January 31, 2006.

As at  September 2011 Kyle School has an enrollment of 82 students K - 12.
