Happy New
Year! Hopefully, everyone enjoyed the holidays!
We welcome
three new students, Garret & Raelyn O’Hara and Kamaya
Eva-O’Hara.
Activities
happening in December were the SUTIL for Grade 10, 11 and 12
on December 3. Presentations were made by Great Plains
College, Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and the Prairie Centre
Credit Union. Thank you to the Prairie Credit Union for
providing students lunch that day.
Mr. Tulp’s Grade
11/12 Law 30 class enjoyed their trip to the Swift Current
Courthouse on December 13.
Grade 4-12 students
were also treated to a Sepaktakwan Clinic on December
14. We may have a team entering provincials in this event.
The K-9 were
treated to a Senkow Sing-A- Long by performer Kathy
Senkow on December 17. She included songs by Justin
Bieber, and Katey Perry.
All enjoyed the
K-6 Christmas Concert on December 21. Congratulations
to Savannah Cheney for being presented the Gold Skills
Banner at the Provincial level and
the Silver at Nationals in Job Interviews. Also, to Santa and
the SCC for providing the treat bags.
Students also
enjoyed a fun day to celebrate our year and the forthcoming
holidays on December 22.Thanks to the SRC for planning the
activities and serving the scrumptious Christmas Dinner.
Mrs. Trytten and
the Grade 4,5,6 Class Pennies for Peace campaign is
wrapping up as they collect penny jars from businesses in
Kyle and the surrounding area. They have had an
overwhelming response with media reports on the radio and on
the Sun West Division website. In addition to the pennies
that they are collecting and being collected in jars around
Kyle, they have had individuals from Elrose and Swift
Current make large donations to our cause. The Associate
Medical Clinic is also fundraising for us. They have been
rolling pennies like mad to get the program wrapped up with
help from the SCC who donated a loose coin sorter and roller
for their project and others like this in the future of our
school. If anybody would like to make donations of pennies
or a larger sum donation (cheques payable to Kyle School SRC),
please have it turned in to the school by Friday,
January, 21st. They will have a grand total by the
end of January to announce after they write a cheque to the
Central Asia Institute. Thank you for all of your
support!
The yearbook
club has received the 2009-2010 yearbooks. If anyone
would like to purchase one, there will be some available at
the main office for $30 (cheques payable to Kyle
School SRC). They are a hardcover book and are printed in
colour. Also, thank you to everyone who purchased a
poinsettia for the 2011 yearbook fundraiser! It was
a great success, once again. If you have any pictures from
any school events, please feel free to submit them to the
yearbook by visiting the following website and entering the

Christensen, Tristian Dashney,
